Vida Ogorelec

As a restless soul I have travelled a great deal in my life so far. Grew up in Ljubljana and then spent several years living in the US (Palm Springs, San Francisco and Chicago) and the UK (Surrey). Educated as an architect (University of Ljubljana) and designer (MFA at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco), as a student I worked as a tour guide, later became an environmental activist and now work as a self-employed trainer and facilitator. I spend most of my time in Motovun - Istria, with regular visits to Ljubljana.

My preferred mode of getting about is on foot - I love walking, including long-distance. Istria is a paradise for walking and with a group of friends I am co-creating a long trail Camino Istria. Overall I enjoy a simple life and have a preference for organic, fair trade and vegan food. I also paint & draw, do patchwork/quilting and enjoy good films and books (Herman Hesse is my favorite author, and Fritjof Capra biggest influence).

If I have a life motto it is: "If you cannot change the situation, change your attitude." which leads to this one: "If you are given lemons, make some lemonade." :-)
